PFL100 Technical Panel: AI Augmented Powertrain Development
April 16, 2026

9:00 AM-10:30 AMET
Technical Session Panels

Room: 330 B
This session explores how artificial intelligence is enhancing engineering across the powertrain development process. This panel brings together real-world applications of AI in requirements-to-test-case generation, AI agents that support problem definition, active learning, and design exploration, and AI-based modeling and simulation for battery cells, modules, and pack structures. The session will show how AI can strengthen simulation, accelerate iteration, improve decision-making, and support more efficient development workflows across conventional and electrified powertrain systems. It will also address the practical realities of adoption, including the need for physics grounding, domain knowledge, reliable data, and human oversight. Rather than presenting AI as a black-box shortcut, the panel emphasizes workflow-aware, engineering-centered approaches that reduce development risk while improving speed, insight, and productivity. Attendees will gain a balanced view of where AI is already delivering value in powertrain development and what is required to scale it responsibly in industry.
